I should note a different Missouri near total adult ban was also taken out

So if you're reading about these bans, and you're scared where you live or that you can't travel/move to different parts of America, remember these bans are legal nonsense and failing in court over and over and over again

We’re winning! .. or y'know…at least staying in the game slapping these bigoted fucks and their transphobic attacks back down to size.

For my Americans out there, here is a map with the safest states for trans folk. These are the states that have the most laws in place to specifically protect trans people.

I can’t sell my home for another five years to move. Let alone find work that can support rent.

Gotta keep going.

Another one of us that keeps thriving fucks them up. If you cannot live for love, if you cannot live for zest, if you cannot live for others, then live for spiting them by holding your head high.

I am terrified for my trans friends who live in dangerous states - and also disappointed that my home state of Oregon isn’t a sanctuary state. But either way, you’ve got to keep fighting, persisting, doing everything you can - if you can get to a safer state do so, if you can’t, form a strong support network of friends, coworkers, neighbors, local advocacy groups- anything. We are safer in numbers and things WILL improve.

Some folks would prefer that I keep politics OUT of my comic strip, but… uh… it’s a comic about my life as a transgender woman, and it’s KINDA hard to not be a smidge political when one party keeps pushing and passing laws that make it a crime for me to exist.

So, sorry if you feel this is unfair, but it feels pretty frickin’ unfair to be labeled a literal criminal for existing.

When I transitioned we were still in the pandemic and I hadn’t really foreseen “being illegal in 27 states” as a potential side effect
